The IDTC was founded by the late Hermann Duckek from Denmark with a view to promoting correct dressage training which is effective yet respectful of the sentient animals with which we work.
To achieve this goal, the IDTC strives to raise the level of dressage training worldwide and especially in countries where dressage is a developing sport. Support and participation in the annual Global Dressage Forum contributes to this objective.
The club is officially recognized as an Associate Member of the FEI and the club President, David Hunt sits on the Dressage Committee of the FEI.
IDTC members are professionals who have trained riders competing at Grand Prix level at international competitions and trainers of Pony/Junior/Young Riders who have competed in international championships.
Mr. Sjef Janssen succeeded Hermann Duckek as president in 2001 and in October 2002 Mr. David Hunt took over the presidency. Current board members are: Mr. David Hunt (GB) president; Mr. Kenneth Dyrby (USA); Mr. Johann Hinnemann (Ger); Mr. Sjef Janssen (Nl); Mr. Dane Rawlins (IRE); and Mr. Andrzej Salacki (Pol) and Mrs. Linda Keenan (GB)
